Thoughts on the throne?

Posted by Marc Scott On January - 18 - 2009

magic8ballI am on the air 5 days a week.  That means that 5 times a week I sit down at the computer and surf through cyberspace looking for things to talk about.  I don’t have a model of the ideal content.  I just click from one place to the next looking for stuff that grabs my attention.  My theory has always been if it sparks my interest, then odds are it will spark the interests of others as well.

While looking for stuff to talk about this weekend I came across one of those stories that is just too good to pass up.  As I read it my thoughts were conflicted.  On one had, it was total ludicrous.  On the other hand, I found myself wondering why it is that my mind isn’t diabolical enough to create such a scheme and profit from it.

In answer to the latter, it probably has something to do with my Christian upbringing and the fact that I could never take advantage of somebody in such a way.  Thus, I am left to earn my living the old fashioned way.

With the economy in the dumps, wouldn’t be great to become psychic and rich while sitting on the crapper?

That’s the dream of paranormal researcher Joshua P. Warren had, and he’s made it a reality with his money making kit called “Put This By Your Toilet and Make Money Being Psychic in Two Weeks.”

The Kit comes with a booklet of daily exercises to improve one’s psychic ability and teaches people how to channel cold hard cash to come their way.

But the cosmic kit only works if you’re sitting on the can.

Warren explains, “It works better on the toilet because it’s a place we visit several times a day.  There we’re alone and become reflective and relaxed.  People enter the alpha brain state in the bathroom, and are more receptive to new ideas and learning.”

Is it even possible for this to be real?  Apparently it is!  I can’t even begin to comprehend  how someone would come to spend money on this, but apparently some will.  $9.88US with a money back guarantee, in case you’re in the market!

My favorite part of the entire article is this line, “…and he’s made it a reality with his money making kit.”

That really, and likely inadvertently, says it all.  “HIS money making kit.”  That’s right.  Because he is the only one that will be making any money off of this!!!

I can appreciate that with the dawn of wireless internet and cell phones the bathroom has become one more place for productivity.  Deny it all you want, but at some point I’m sure we all have, or will, send an email, answer a text message, surf Facebook or answer a phone call while on the throne.

I can’t argue with the fact that, as Mr. Warren points out, I’m alone in the bathroom.  I don’t know how reflective and relaxed I become.  I guess I’ve never really given it much thought.  Oh, but wait, perhaps therein lies the answer?

All that said, I don’t suspect that my psychic powers are any better in the can than they are anywhere else.  When it comes right down to it, I have no psychic powers, nor do I have an interest in possessing or developing psychic powers on the john or otherwise!

As appealing as the idea of channeling cold hard cash to come my way sounds, I fear the price of my sanity is simply too steep.  Besides, if I actually ordered this kit, used it on the toilet, and anybody ever found out, be it friends or family, all the money in the world isn’t going to get me out of my straight jacket and padded room!!!

In the meantime, if you’d like to help me from having to resort to such extremes to make ends meet, please feel free to visit marcscottonline.com and book me for your voice over job! :-)
